Dr. Brian Calhoun, an education instructor at Fresno City College, was arrested and charged with assault and battery of a 19-year-old female student Friday according to a press release from the State Center Community College District.
The press release stated that Calhoun was arrested, cited and released.
Calhoun is a former Fresno City Council Member and an Army veteran.
In 2004, Calhoun was arrested for DUI. According to the Fresno Bee, Calhoun pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine days of community service, three years of probation and a $1,500 fine.
Calhoun was not immediately available for comment.
