Unique food:

The Big Fresno Fair offers big food. There are the classics hits including funnel cake, BBQ corn and fried Twinkies. There were also some new items like garlic pizza, bread and fries.
Favorites included fried Twinkies, Pignotti’s meatball sandwiches and Garlicky’s garlic fries. Other good options include the funnel cakes, corndogs, churros and cotton candy.
As always, the fair food options were relatively expensive.
This year, officials offered a ‘Passport to Savings’ coupon book with over 40 coupons for food savings. With savings of 30 percent or more and a total value of more than $150, fairgoers could save a good deal of money by purchasing the coupon book.

The Big Fresno Fair was filled with entertainment this year. There were multiple sporting events and performances for the fairgoers to enjoy throughout the fairgrounds. The sporting events ranged from sheep riding, horse racing and event Alaskan pig racing. On the other side of the fair, there was an ESPN Sports Zone where there were multiple flat screen televisions showing various sporting events as well as arcade games that tested for athletic ability.
Also, appearing at the fair were Dr. Solars’ Medical Shows, magic shows, clowns and animal performances. There were also numerous concerts including Cheech and Chong with War, Clovis native, Ryan Beatty, Weezer, Chevelle, Foreigner and Tyga.
Even though this year’s fair has come to an end, there are still rides to remember. This year, there were over 50 rides for all ages. Fairgoers could purchase a $30 wrist band for unlimited rides throughout the two weeks of the fair.
Judy Sanchez, a Fresno resident, recommended the Super Shot Drop to young adults. The thrilling ride is one of the most popular attractions for fair-goers. The ride gently rises high and releases into an accelerated free fall.

This year, one of the newest rides offered at the fair is the Whitewater Log Flume. Unlike any other ride from last year, the attraction adds a new dimension of thrills. Fairgoer, John Herr, loved this new ride and is already looking forward to riding it again next year.
For those who couldn’t experience this year’s exciting new attractions, both rides will be returning next year alongside many other interesting and heart racking rides.
