The Student Activities Office will host the annual Fall Carnival at Ratcliffe Stadium on Oct.31 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is an open event for all ages and everything is free. The carnival will be a fun venue to entertain children with prizes, booth games and more.
Associative Student Government senator, Josh Zamora said, “ASG is handling the haunted house, there are going to be other games and booths but other clubs are putting those on.”
Booths are for personal enjoyment of the student body and their families.
“This is a free event that FCC student activities will be hosting to show that the school can give back to the community,” said Zamora.
Student Activities representative, Margaret Klassen said, “There will be about 18 clubs at the event with booths with free games. Just walk up and play fun carnival games like bag toss. We’ll have snacks near the end for children.”
Klassen hopes this event can encourage kids to be interested in the college environment and encourage more people to go to college later on in life.
FCC student Shameka Hollis recalls her experience at last year’s fall carnival. “They had a haunted house, a little bit of entertainment like face painting and games for the children. There was no food at the event,” said Hollis. “The kids got candy and had a good time.”
Hollis plans to return to this year’s event with her family. The booths will be set up in such a way that they will be sheltered from the elements.
The costume dress code for the carnival is moderate. Students and faculty members are encouraged not to wear anything that may be inappropriate to children.
