Fresno City College held its annual Ram Doggie Roundup in the free speech area on Wednesday with an added twist.
Ram Doggie is an event organized every semester by Associated Student Government to show appreciation to the students who bought a Student ID card this spring. This year, following a number of state championships and championship runs by FCC’s various athletics teams, ASG decided to celebrate by honoring the college’s very successful athletes for their hardwork on the field.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. students could present their ID card and get two free hot dogs, chips, drink and dessert. Those who did not have an ASB Card could buy lunch for $5.
To cook, the Associated Student Government teamed up with the T.I.L.E. program and the Circle K International, a new volunteer club on campus, whose members were trained prior the event to make sure there are no health violations.
“Ram Doggie is a nice way to give back to the students,” said ASG Legislative Vice President Nathan Alonzo. “This semester it was also an honorary ceremony for the basketball team who won the State Championship.”
According to Alonzo, this spring’s Ram Doggie Roundup was one of the most successful so far.
