Two women and a police officer were stabbed at 5 a.m. on Monday on the 1500 block on North Van Ness.
One of the women was killed while the other remains in stable condition. The officer also appears to be okay, said police Chief Jerry Dyer.
According to Police Chief Jerry Dyer the suspect is a 26 year old male from Fresno. “The suspect appears to live nearby so there’s a good indication that he is at least acquainted with the victims,” said Dyer.
Additional officers assisted in arresting the suspect who is now in custody.
Dyer also said the suspect also has an extensive criminal background.
An unconfirmed source says that one of the victims is a Fresno City College student.
Dyer says he would hold off on releasing the names of the suspect, the victims and the officer that was injured.
