Do you have a creative idea for a book cover? The Friends of The Fresno City College Library is awarding two $250 scholarship through a “design your own book cover” contest.
This is the sixth year the organization has sponsored the “Casanova Scholarship.” It is named after Giacomo Casanova, an Italian renaissance man who led a fascinating life and held countless occupations including spy, lawyer and social philosopher.
The last 13 years of Casanova’s life were spent as a librarian, a “lover of books and information” as the organization suggests. It was this time in his life that reflects the title of the scholarship.
The requirements for entry are quite simple. A recommendation must be given along with the submission, and applicants must be enrolled in at least six units for the current spring semester and the upcoming fall semester, which is when the scholarship is given. The deadline for entry is March 11, and applications must be emailed to [email protected]
