Fresno City College student assaulted in parking lot D
A Fresno City College student was assaulted early Tuesday morning by two men who demanded his backpack, State Center Community College District Police said.
Police say the victim was approached by two Hispanic males on parking lot D around 8 a.m.
The student refused to give up his backpack and the two males struck him in the face with closed fists, police said. The student did manage to fight back before the suspects fled the scene.
According to police, the suspects were last seen heading west on McKinley Avenue in a black, 2-door Honda CRX with black taillights.
One suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches. He was last wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt and black jeans.
The second suspect is also described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches. He was last wearing a black and gray sweatshirt and dark colored jeans.
Police say they are concerned for the safety of students since this incident occurred on campus. They urge all students, faculty and staff to be aware of their surroundings as they walk to their vehicles.
“Escort” services for anyone wishing to have a member of the police department walk them to their vehicle are available, police said.
