Advocates of high speed rail, including Fresno City College’s ‘I Will Ride’ club will join Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin to discuss benefits of the project.

The showcase is scheduled for April 27 at the Old Administration Building Auditorium from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Along with local businessman Craig Scharton, Swearingen will be speaking about the train and how it will affect people at the state and local levels.

Scharton  is the former director of Fresno’s Downtown and Community Revitalization Department, and is the owner and operator of Peeve’s Public House on Fulton Street.

Members of the Rail Authority will also be in attendance.

The event is open to the public and there will be a question and answer session following the speeches.
