Fresno City College Student Body Found Near Campus Railroad Tracks
The Fresno County Sheriff Office Public Information Officer Toni Botti confirmed today that the investigation into the Fresno City College student whose body was found by the railroad tracks near campus last week is being treated as a suicide.
According to State Center Community College District Police Chief Jose Flores, the death will be investigated by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Police Department, BNSFPD, but both Fresno and SCCCD’s police departments will aid in the investigation.
“Our student services department will be working with our mental health services to make services available to students in these classes who may be affected by the news,” Pimentel said.
An email sent by Chancellor Carole Goldsmith on March 20, reflected on the impact the loss has on FCC’s community.
“The loss of a student so suddenly and unexpectedly is profoundly upsetting, and our community mourns this life cut short. We express our deep condolences to her family and friends. Please make time to take care of yourselves and to reach out and be present with each other,” Goldsmith said.
The memorial is still up near Parking Lot F.
