President of HSV Consulting Inc. Helen Benjamin is the main consultant assisting Fresno City College in the search for a permanent Fresno City College president. HSV Consulting Inc. is a company that offers support to Community Colleges at board and management levels. Focusing on inclusion, diversity, and forming strategic plans for the future.
Benjamin hopes students and faculty will give their input and participate in the Finalist Public Forums, held online and in person during the week of March 17, 2025. This will allow concerned parties to meet finalists and ask questions.
“I urge students to participate. Watch the forums, attend if you can and give feedback, those thoughts and opinions are important for the finalist to hear,” Benjamin said.
As of Jan. 10, the search has concluded and finalists have moved on to further rounds of questions before the forums in March.
According to Benjamin the search is on schedule to meet the April deadline, allowing the final candidate to begin their service by July 1 at the earliest.
“Yes, we have applicants going through more interviews and we are on track to have a finalist by April,” Benjamin said.
Fresno City College began the search for a permanent candidate to take up the position of president in August 2024. After the departure of previous president Robert Pimentel, Clovis Community College president Kim Armstrong has taken up as interim during the search.
In September 2024 the search was announced to the public and reached out to the Fresno City College community in October of the same year, posting surveys and listening sessions. Giving the community chances to voice their concerns and ask questions of what SCCCD was looking for in potential candidates.
