The Fresno City College Rams were dealt a 52-15 loss against City College of San Francisco, ending their season in the Northern California Championship at the Hawaiian Punch Bowl on Nov. 27.
FCC had an overall record of 8-3 for the season.
During the first quarter, San Francisco scored twice, once on a 20-yard pass during their first drive, and again on a four-yard run.
They followed up in the second quarter with a successful field goal, gaining a 17-0 lead.
FCC quarterback Lance Orender completed an 11-yard touchdown pass on FCC’s fifth drive to running back Larry Overstreet. After an extra point kick made by Jake Reimer, the Rams had seven points on the board.
Early in the third quarter, linebacker Anthony Elliot provided the Rams with a safety on FCC’s ninth drive, which had the score at 17-9.
San Francisco pulled away from FCC in the third quarter 3 touchdowns.
By this time, San Francisco was well on their way to a 52-15 victory and state title berth.
Overall, FCC managed to gain 213 total offensive yards during the game.
Orender threw for a total of 161 yards. Running back James Holland led the team for rushing yards, gaining 39 yards throughout the game. Wide Receiver Trent Hicks ran a total of 104 receiving yards.
