The Fresno City College women’s volleyball team has dominated this season and continues to do so as they head into the third round of the playoffs.
The Rams are led by Alex Paredes, who was recently named to the All Nor Cal and All-State team as well receiving 1st Team All-American honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
FCC has mowed through the competition this season. They have compiled a perfect 14-0 record in conference play to secure another title for the Rams on their way to a 22-2 season and a No. 3 seed in the NorCal playoffs.
FCC started their playoff run as they faced Solano on Nov. 23. The Rams made quick work of the Falcons as they won in straight sets 25-17, 25-18 and 25-16.
Hilary Brians had 14 digs for the Rams while Toni Murphy and Amanda Michael had 10 and 8 kills respectively. Taylor Alberta racked up 20 assists in the games and Paredes capped off the night with 10 kills and 7 digs.
The Rams then faced No. 11 De Anza on Nov. 27 in the second round game. FCC once again dispatched their opponent in straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-16.
Brians led the way again with 14 digs as Alberta followed up with 34 assists. Paredes had another solid night as she compiled 12 kills and 8 digs along with 3 aces. Michael completed the night with 10 kills to help the Rams move on to the third round game.
By time of production, the Rams would have traveled to Santa Rosa to face the No. 2 seed Bear Cubs on Tuesday night. The winner of that game would face the winner the No. 1 Cabrillo and No. 4 Delta game. Stay tuned to Fresnocitycollegerampage.com for the latest results of the Rams third round game.
