The Fresno City College Men’s Basketball team racked a bittersweet victory over the Porterville Pirates Wednesday with an 88-79 win. Although the Rams started the game slow and were unable to finish their field goals, their hard nosed defense came through in the end.
The Rams went into half time with a 35-33 lead, but saw their lead evaporate in the second half as the turnovers mounted. The Pirates tied the score, and eventually led 60-49. The Rams however got back into the game as they stayed together and continued to work hard on the defensive end of the court. Randall Jackson and Tomas Sanchez contributed with 10 points each while guard Alex Perez led the way with with 22 points. The Rams are currently No. 8 in the state and No. 4 in NorCal. The win against Porterville improved their record to 19-3 overall and 3-0 in the CVC.
