Fresno City College Women’s Volleyball team dominated their first home game on Sept. 20 against the Reedley College Tigers.
The gym was pounding with fans cheering, clapping, and stomping as the Rams took the court.
The Tigers took the lead first going up 5-3 in the first set and what would be their biggest lead of the night. But the Rams came back fast going up 12-5 scoring 9 unanswered points.
Two timeouts would be taken by the Tigers in just the opening set to come up with a gameplan to stop the Rams dominant scoring offense but they couldn’t come up with an answer to stop FCC.
The Rams took advantage of these timeouts not only to rest but to celebrate and dance which only got the crowd more hyped and loud.
The Rams only allowed 6 points, taking the first 25-11 and heading into the second set with momentum and confidence.
The second set was similar to the first set; the Rams scoring was non stop, but the Tigers did keep it competitive this set.
The second set was full of big plays, some lasting around 15 seconds with big defensive plays which would lead to more celebration from the Rams sideline.
The Rams took the second set 25-18.
The third set saw some early fatigue from the Rams with the game going back and forth leading to the Tigers being up 7-6.
But the Rams would rally together and snuff out any chance at a comeback, only letting the Tigers score 5 more points the rest of the game.
The Rams won the third set 25-12 and with that winning the game and all three sets in a dominant fashion for their first home game of the 2023 campaign.
The Rams’ next game is a conference match-up versus Colombia at home on Sept. 22 at 5 p.m.
