The Fresno City College Women’s Soccer team picks up a dominating win against the Taft College Cougars 5-1 at Ratcliffe Stadium on Oct. 8.This win extends the Ram’s winning streak to five consecutive wins.
The sun was beaming as the heat got trapped in the ground making the game hot for athletes and the crowd.
The temperature and humidity was overwhelming but that did not stop the audience from filling in the seats and hyping up their FCC Rams with deafening cheers.
Ten minutes in the game forward Daisy Torres kicked the first goal for the Rams in the first 10 minutes of the game with the assist from Alyssa White. But the game would roll into half with the Rams up 0-1.
In the second half the Cougars came out with urgency to score being down 0-1 with them taking an aggressive approach.
The game from both sides was physical with both teams trying to create situations to score. There was plenty of contact as each team tried to get the ball. The Cougars were set on evening this game out.
Despite the effort from the Cougars, the star-player of the game, White, would have something to say about that. She had an amazing second half and was the major reason for the Rams victory.
But not before the Cougars put up their first and only point of the game. With an assist from Cougar’s midfielder Emily Leyva. Kaiulani Nishigaya kicked the goal, tying the score 1-1.
With just 28 minutes left, Rams forward White kicked the goal with the assist from Braedyn Kincade making the score 2-1. This started a scoring-frenzy from White.
Minutes after her last goal, White kicks in another goal this time with the assist from midfielder Jade Jones.
Now the Rams take the lead, 3-1.
Adding to the Rams performance was the crowd; cheering, screaming, and creating a hostile environment for the Cougars who were already down.
Continuing their momentum White sinks in another goal with an assist from defender Val Herrera. The Cougars had no answers for White or the rest of the Rams offense.
And just to add icing on the cake, with just 10 minutes left to play White sank another goal with another assist from Kincade. Finishing her dominating performance with a final score of 5-1 favoring the Rams.
The Rams next game is this Friday Oct. 11 will be away against Madera.
