The Fresno City College Women’s Basketball team took on Porterville College at the FCC gymnasium on Jan. 29. The Rams dominated the Pirates by 26 points with a final score of 81-55.
The crowd lit up the gym while watching the Rams. They took the early lead scoring with two minutes left to play.
The Rams showed strong defense holding the Pirates to a few points. The gym erupted with cheers after every basket.
As the first quarter came to a finish the Rams led The Pirates 28-11.
With a slow start for the Pirates, they began to make plays and score some points. The Rams gained more momentum and started to pull away with the lead in the second quarter 41-22.
With the first half coming to an end, the Rams lead The Pirates 43-27.
The Rams kept the energy up for the beginning of the 3rd quarter, bringing the score to 50-35 by halftime. They led the game all night and went 62-42 after three quarters.
During the fourth quarter, the Rams went on to blow the Pirates out by 26 points with a final score of 81-55. Players were fired up with everyone celebrating as the buzzer hit zero.
The Rams shot 26% from the 3-point line, with 44 rebounds. T’Yanna Armstrong scored 21 points and Genevieve Tamondong scored 13 points. according to the FCC athletic page.
They are now 14-8 on the season with their next home game on Feb. 5 against Taft College.
