The Fresno City College men’s basketball team took down conference rival Reedley College 70-65 on Feb.19 on sophomore night.
The team honored nine sophomores playing in their last home game as a Ram.
The game was close from the start with both teams trading buckets. The Rams went into halftime with a 32-29 lead. The second half was no different with Reedley gaining a little more momentum.
A late push by the Rams helped secure the win despite being down by five points in the final minutes of the game.
The atmosphere was electric thanks to the FCC home crowd who erupted with cheers at the final buzzer.
Head Coach Robert Haynes said “that right there is a perfect one for us.”
For sophomore wing DJ Eason, the team win is the most important thing at the end of the day.
“Just being in the moment, just to get it done, that’s why it matters,” Eason said.
The Rams will be taking on Porterville college in their final league game before playoffs.
For Coach Haynes the message moving forward is simple, stay healthy and stay mentally focused.
“If the mental part is strong I think we’ll be good,” Haynes said.
