Ashleigh Contreras is a 22-year-old who loves Marvel, Snoopy and kitties. She graduated from Central West Highschool in 2020, but due to COVID, her senior year was cut short and it made her wonder what to do.

This is Ashleigh’s third semester with the Rampage; this semester filling the role of News Editor. With this position she hopes to focus and speak out on the certain issues that are important to the students of FCC and as well as the community.

Journalism wasn’t something that she saw herself doing at first but her passion for writing has led her to majoring in journalism and is something that she can see herself to keep doing in the long run. She hopes to be able to find a career in sports journalism or even fashion.

Writing is something she loves doing, whether it’s writing an article for the Rampage or just writing in her own personal journal. It helps her escape from reality and just write whatever she is feeling. Reading is also something she loves to do. A dream of hers is to write a book of her own and hopes it helps others.

While she is not writing or reading, she plays video games with her silly friends or listening to music on her speaker or on her vinyl record player. Her new obsession has been collecting vinyls as well as funko pops even though she has way too much of them already. She loves spending time with family and friends, they mean everything to her and she hopes to make them proud with her work in journalism.
