Candy Rivera is a 19-year-old journalism major born and raised in Kerman, California. After graduating from Kerman High School in 2023, Candy decided it was better to enroll at a community college than going to a CSU straight out of high school. Thus she enrolled at Fresno City to begin her college education. Growing up with creative parents, art easily became a hobby for Candy that eventually became an interest in graphic design and marketing later on. That passion helped her to decide on the career path she would want to one day follow. 

As a dedicated student with an interest in music and writing, she is currently majoring in journalism to deepen her understanding of media and the news writing. With hopes to one day work in the music industry as PR manager or merchandise designer, journalism became the best course of action to pursue her goals. Deciding on journalism wasn’t easy, but the benefits and experience it could offer were hard to pass up. 

Outside of her busy life as a college student Candy spends her time watching any and all horror films or listening to her growing collection of CDs. If she doesn’t have headphones in her ears, Candy can be found spending time with her family at vintage car shows or eating at different restaurants. 

While still being new to journalism with only two classes under her belt, Candy has learned a lot from those classes and her experience in editing has been a great help.
