Jordan Jackson

Jordan Jackson, Reporter

Jordan Jackson, a native of Fresno, California, discovered his love for writing at a young age.
His imagination would run wild, and this passion has only grown stronger. He attended
elementary and middle school in Southwest Fresno and graduated with a civic seal from Edison
High School.

Jordan was involved in multiple organizations in high school, such as the Black
Student Union and the school-run newspaper, The Illuminator. He also participated in track and
field and was a part of the golf team during his senior year.

While in high school, Jordan served his community as an employee of Fresno City Council member Miguel A. Arias. Jordan
participated in door-to-door curb painting services where he and other peers restored damaged
addresses on residents' curbsides and worked within City Hall, learning how the city functions.

His writing accomplishments include the Philip Levine Prize Award presented by Fresno State's
English and Creative Writing department, his assistance in writing the 2022 Juneteenth
Celebration Proclamation at Fresno City Hall, and his published written pieces found in media
like Know Youth Fresno and The Spectrum.

Jordan Jackson takes pride in his writing, which has
helped shape who he is today. He is someone who carries his weight and takes on many mantles.
His character is respectable, and he encourages everyone to stay kind even when they don't
always feel up to it. In Addition to Jordan's gift in writing, he is an example of how students can
cultivate a positive attitude and actively participate in academia and their communities.
