Leylie is a 19-year-old second-year student at Fresno City College. She’ll be transferring to a 4-year university with an associate degree in journalism. She’s a fan of entertainment and hopes to work in the film industry. After she feels she is done with her time in Hollywood, she plans on getting her teaching credential to become an instructor with hands-on experience. The life layout was inspired by her mentors at The Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART). In her free time, she likes to read, watch TV, and play with her dog, Benito!

She’s been working on ‘going outside and touching grass’ by getting back into skating, biking, and going on walks. She #loves music and dance. It’s like therapy to her. Fun fact, Leylie was a folklorico dancer for 14 years. However, she likes other genres of dance like good’ol cumbia and bachata. She was born in the heart of the Central Valley, Fresno.

This semester will be Leylie’s first ever time working in a newsroom and she’s very excited to collaborate with the other staff. She loves working with cameras and making collaborative content, whether she be on or offscreen. She’s always down to try new things (like skydiving) and enjoys challenges. Leylie is the eldest and only daughter of 3, the only left-handed person in her family, and a Gemini. Her and social anxiety have never heard of each other.
