Alexis Martinelli, Reporter
Alexis Martinelli is a 20-year-old journalist born in Clovis, California. Her loved ones and friends call her Lex, a simple and short nickname! Lex loves and appreciates art and enjoys painting and creating music. By painting, she just mainly explores the mixing and creating of colors and sticks to painting more cartoons than realistic pieces, as it is a simple and relaxing hobby. She is self-taught in piano and guitar and hopes to one day teach herself to play as many instruments as she can! She was taught the flute and is currently learning the harmonica, which has been the biggest challenge for her so far. She also loves to read and write which is a reason why she writes for the Rampage.
She majored in music her first semester but later switched to journalism. She hopes to still pursue music but wanted to dive into writing, reporting, and sharing important things with the public. This is her third and last year at Fresno City College as well as her last semester working for the Rampage. She wants to one day publish her own books and or become an investigative journalist. She also hopes to continue to pursue music and improve her skills there and hopefully record and write some songs as well.
This semester, she is the news editor which has been a big step for her considering she was terrified to even walk into the Rampage newsroom. Lex has seen major improvements in her communication skills and although she is still somewhat shy and introverted, feels more confident in speaking with others and voicing her opinion. She is excited to be writing for the Rampage once again and hopes that this semester is successful with campus news!
