Samantha Morales, News Editor
Samantha Morales is a 20-year-old American with Native American and Mexican heritage. She is a Journalism major and is currently in her final semester at Fresno City College.
Born and raised in Selma, California, she graduated from Selma High School in 2020. At Selma, she was active in the percussion front ensemble for three years and was on both the swimming and water polo team.
She had also got experience with the medical field when at Selma, as she took a course to gain her CNA (certified nurse assistant) license. At first, she thought the medical field would be the career she would go into. However, even when she got her official CNA license she decided to change her mind as she fell in love with reporting.
She was involved with her high school’s newspaper, The Clarion at Selma. It was there she became a reporter and photographer during her senior year. Learning the basics of how to use a camera and how to write stories. Being a part of the Clarion made her realize that she wanted to have a career in journalism.
This will now be her second semester being a part of The Rampage. Her first semester she was a reporter and soon a trained entertainment editor for half of the semester. Now she has taken on a new challenge with being the news editor for her last semester at Fresno City College.
In her free time, she enjoys working out whether it is at home or at a gym. She also enjoys painting in her free time, when she is not busy with school.
Samantha hope to transfer the following year to San Francisco State University to pursue her career in journalism and be the first in her family to graduate from college.
