If you are wondering who is responsible for the deep trench and barricades in the walkway beside the arts building, look no farther than the trees in that area.
Construction workers are currently cutting out roots that pushed on a pipe, resulting in a leak, according to Greg Breshers of State Center Community College District operations.
According to Breshers, workers have been working on the problem for almost four hours. The pipe leak has been fixed.
The hole will stay uncovered for a day or two to ensure that the roots will not cause any more problems after which the hole will be covered and the walk repaved.
