A window to LI 134, a Computer Lab in the Media and Learning Center of Fresno City College was vandalized broken for reasons unknown sometime between Sunday evening and early Monday morning.
Lieutenant Gaines of the SCCCD police described the incident as “an act of vandalism.” Police reported that nothing was stolen and there are no leads about who was responsible for this act.
The incident was initially reported to the police around 6:45 a.m. by a custodian on campus and Officer Moreno was first to arrive on scene.
The culprit broke the window and fled the scene shortly after. The break appeared too small for an adult to pass through. Shards of glass sprayed the inside of the building as well as outside.
“The staff had done a thorough search, but nothing was missing,” said James Tucker, Dean of Instruction, who was notified by Cindy Peak, an instructional aide to the Computer Lab.
A wrist watch in two pieces was found on the scene. One part was said to have been found inside the lab while the other was outside of the window. The watch was confiscated by the police who cannot confirm if it plays a crucial role in the case.
Other break-ins on the FCC campus includes at the Social Science Building and the Education Building, both occurring in the fall semester of 2008.
Gaines urges all to notify the campus police if they witness suspicious activities adding that it is up to the students to keep an eye out.
